DOVER -- Theodore J. Bole Sr., of Dover, died Nov. 14, 2008, at his home. He was 83. Born in Audubon, N.J., to the late Robert J. and Elizabeth O'Rourke Bole, he lived in Drexell Hill and later in Jenkintown, Pa., prior to moving to Dover in 1966. He was a World War II Army veteran and served with the 10th Mountain Division (ski patrol). Since 1965, Mr. Bole owned and operated Eastern Shore Equipment Co., where he remained active until his illness. Besides his parents and five siblings, he was preceded in death by two sons, John Bole in 1968 and Theodore Bole Jr. in June 2008. He is survived by his wife, Alma Bole; seven children, Alma Schmidt, Jane Briggs, Elizabeth Boaman, Elaine Bole Baierlein, Robert Bole, Thomas Bole and David Bole; a sister, Marguerite Goldschmidt; two brothers, Kenneth Bole and Jeffrey Bole; 17 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Holy Cross Catholic Church, South State Street, Dover. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Dover. Friends may call Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Funeral Home of Michael J. Ambruso, 1175 S. State St. Dover.
