Tanisha Renea Bratcher-Cruz, 27

Tanisha Renea Bratcher-Cruz of Cheswold died Saturday, Dec. 23, 2006, in Cheswold as a result of injuries sustained from being struck by a vehicle Dec. 22. She was 27.

Mrs. Bratcher-Cruz was born Oct. 16, 1979, in Dover, the youngest of four children, to Lester and Mari Bratcher.

She was a 1998 graduate of Caesar Rodney High School with 15 college credits.

She worked at Telemon Headstart in Dover and most recently at Dover Downs.

Mrs. Bratcher-Cruz enjoyed shopping, designing new things for her home, hairstyling and cooking. She also loved singing and having fun at gatherings with her children, family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Michael Terry Johnson; her maternal grandmother, Annie Lee Jackson; and her paternal grandparents, Lester and Edith Bratcher.

She is survived by her husband, Felix Cruz III; two sons, Kal-El and Jeramiah Cruz; her parents, Lester and Mari Bratcher of Dover; a brother, Maurice Bratcher of Dover; a sister, Nicole Bratcher of Dover; her mother-in-law and father-in-law; Felix and Ana Cruz of Dover; her sister-in-law, Lisa Cruz of Dover; two brothers-in-law, Alex Toro and David Cruz, both of Dover; her godparents, Melvin and Bessie Sudler of Clayton; a godbrother, Joseph Sudler of Dover; a godfather, Wilmer Brown; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and numerous friends.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today in Bennie Smith Funeral Home, Dover.

Services will be 11 a.m. Friday in Union Missionary Baptist Church, 883 Lincoln St., Dover, where friends may call two hours earlier.

Burial will be in Sharon Hill Memorial Park, Dover.
