Susan E. Neyor, 47

PLANO, Texas - On the evening of Friday, Feb. 17, 2007, Susan E. Neyor met her untimely death in Oklahoma City. She was 47.

Sue was born May 17, 1959, at St. Luke Hospital, New York City, to Mrs. Sylvia E. Broderick and G. Marcus Kelley.

Upon her return to Liberia, Sue was baptized in the St. Paul"s Episcopal Church in Greenville, Sinoe County, where she spent her earliest years as an integral part of the Broderick family. In 1961, the family moved to Monrovia, and Sue attended Bromley Mission School in Virginia and the St. Theresa Convent School in Monrovia. Susan also enrolled in the College of West Africa, from which she graduated in 1978. She then enrolled in the College of Business and Public Administration at the University of Liberia from which she earned her Bachelor of Business Administration degree in 1983.

Susan was married to Mr. Christopher Neyor on Dec. 23, 1984, at St. Stephen"s Episcopal Church in Sinkor, Monrovia, Liberia. They were blessed with four children, Sophia; G. Marcus, the elder son who is now 21; the younger son, Christopher Z. Neyor Jr., who is now 17 years old; and the younger daughter, Madea, who is now 11 years old.

After graduating the University of Liberia, she took an administrative position at the Ministry of Postal Affairs, where she was an exemplary employee for many years. She later secured a position at the Liberian Telecommunications Corp., and rose to become the Manager for Research and Statistics, a position she held until 1990, when the civil war caused most of the governmental establishments to close down in Liberia.

In 1990, during the Liberian civil war, Sue and her family relocated to Edison, N.J., where she sought to make her home a quiet place to raise their children. Sue and her family later moved to Plano in 1997, where she secured employment with the Dillard"s Department Store, serving there as a dependable and dedicated Sales Associate.

Susan embraced the Christian faith at a very early age, and she grew up as an Episcopalian. She was married at the St. Stephen"s Episcopal Church in Sinkor, Monrovia, but she later joined the First United Methodist Church, her husband"s church affiliation, after her marriage. In New Jersey she was a member of the Dover United Methodist Church, and she remained a very active and devoted member of her church. In Plano, her dedication as a servant of God did not wane as she served as a member of the Christ United Methodist Church. She made sure that her children and all of the members of the family served the church, and among the many commitments she held at the church, she served continuously as a Sunday school teacher.

She was loved by her many relatives and friends and she is survived by a host of relatives, including her parents, Sylvia E. Broderick of Dover, Del., and G. Marcus Kelley of Staten Island, N.Y.; many brothers and sisters and their families, including, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Wiles, Dr. Cyril E. Broderick and family of Dover, Del., Mrs. Vesta Viddy and family of Smyrna, Del., the Rev. and Mrs. S. Alexander Minor and family of Dover, Del., and Selbyville, Del.; Dr. and Mrs. James Guseh and family of Durham, N.C.; Ms. Jackie Broderick of Salt Lake City, Utah; and Jeanne-Ann of Staten Island. She is also survived by her aunt, Ms. Martha Kelley; families of her uncles, Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Kelley and Mr. and Mrs. Markerson Kelley; and her cousins, Dr. Rowena Y. Kelley of Starkville, Miss., and Mr. Merkle Greene in Minnesota, and the family of Mr. and Mrs. Nicholas Diggs of Providence, R.I. Extended families of Mrs. Neyor include other members of the Neyor, Kelley, Broderick, Greene, Frazier, Feijo, Dickerson and Clarke families, among a host of relatives and friends.

Relatives who predeceased Susan include her "Papa," Counselor Nelson William Broderick; her brother-in-law, Dr. Antonio C. Viddy; and her uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Nicholas Diggs of Paynesville, Liberia. Her aunt Emma Diggs was so very loving to Sue. By the mercy of God, and by the gift of our Lord Jesus Christ, may she rest in blissful and eternal peace.

A viewing will be held on Friday from 8 p.m. to midnight at the Whatcoat United Methodist Church, Saulsbury Road, Dover.

Funeral services will be Saturday in the Holy Cross Roman Catholic Church, 631 State St., Dover.
