MILTON - Susan D. Lloyd of Milton passed away Tuesday, Aug. 21, 2007, at Beebe Medical Center, Lewes. She was 64.

Susan was born in Camden, N.J., daughter of the late Wellington C. Jr. and Edith A. (Rowand) Lloyd.

She spent her early years in Collingswood, N.J., and moved to Berlin, N.J. in 1951.

Susan attended Berlin Elementary School, and during her eighth grade graduation, played a piano solo. The day after her eighth grade graduation, she was confirmed at the Holy Communion Lutheran Church, Berlin.

She continued her education at Edgewood Senior High School, graduating in 1961, and attended Rutgers University, Camden, in 1963.

After her time in the military, Susan attended Camden County College and graduated with an associate"s degree in accounting.

From 1962 to 1968, she was employed as a clerk typist with the Camden County Courthouse. She also held various general office positions with the U.S. Property & Fiscal Office, the naval yard in Philadelphia, and RCA in Moorestown.

In 1991, after moving to Delaware, Susan worked as an office assistant at Draper"s King Cole Cannery, Milton, and a motel in Lewes, until 1994, when several medical problems forced her to seek disability.

In 1968, she entered the U.S. Army. Her time was served at Fort McClellan, Ala., for basic and clerical training, pay-disbursing and ADPS at Indianapolis, and a leadership course at Fort Ord, Calif.

From 1969 to 1971, Susan was stationed at the Aberdeen (Md.) Proving Ground; 1971 and 1972 were spent as an auditor for Valley Forge Hospital. From 1972 to 1973, she was an auditor and editor for Oakland Army Terminal. From 1973 to 1975 she served as an ADP machine operator in Gopeningen, Germany, with the 1st Infantry Division. She was honorably discharged from active service in 1975 with a SP5 rank.

In 1977, Susan joined the U.S. Army National Guard in Hammonton, N.J., and was honorably discharged in 1978.

During her leisure time, she enjoyed traveling with her parents, doing the majority of the driving. She also enjoyed needlework.

Susan was a member of and faithfully attended the Milton Wesleyan Church.

She is survived by a sister, Carolyn Robinson of Richmond Hill, Ga.; a nephew, Ralph W. Robinson of New Braufels, Texas; two nieces, Brenda C. Wetzel of Berlin, and Kay Sheppard of Richmond Hill; and two great-nieces, a great-nephew and one great-great-nephew.

A memorial service will be 6 p.m. Wednesday at the Milton Wesleyan Church, 415 Union St., Milton. The Rev. Tim Wilson will officiate. Burial will be at a later date in Berlin.

Arrangements handled by Short Funeral Services, Milton.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Milton Wesleyan Church.
