Sue Anne DeVoe, 56 CAMDEN-WYOMING - Sue Anne DeVoe, of Camden-Wyoming, died Thursday, April 15, 2010 at Kent General Hospital in Dover surrounded by her loving family. Born on May 23, 1953, in Glens Falls, N.Y., she was the daughter of Sharon Flewelling and the late Edwin N. Flewelling of Corinth, N.Y. where she grew up and attended Corinth Central High School graduating in 1971. She attended Adirondack Community College and married Greg DeVoe in 1974. She was a devoted wife, mother and Nana to her husband, three children and six grandchildren. After her first children were school age, Sue returned to college and attained her teaching degree from East Carolina University in 1987. She taught first and second grade at St Peters school in Greenville and her creativity inspired her students to new heights of learning. She loved children and would do anything for her own children. She routinely gave all of herself asking nothing in return. She was especially fond of rooting for her children at ball games including the use of a cow bell that took her enthusiasm to new heights. She was a cheerleader in high school and she never stopped being one when it came to her children. She loved her grandchildren, Liana, Gregory, Isabella, Marianne, Lily and Jackson. She had the best lap that all wanted to sit on and be read their favorite book. She was always coming up with creative things for them to do and learn from. She made them smile all the time. She was a super creative person and loved to quilt. She was a past president of Helping Hands Quilt Guild and a member of the Peacemakers Quilt Guild. She created quilts with her heart and every one she touched was special. Sue had one sibling, Mary Kay Flewelling who died many years ago. Survivors besides her husband of 36 years include three children, Jon Paul and his wife Jennie of Coventry, Rhode Island; Mimi Gibbs and her husband Jason of Dover, and Mike of her home in Camden-Wyoming, DE. She is also survived by her sisters, Kathie Duncan and her husband Brian of Queensbury, N.Y., Julie Dibble and her husband Jack of Selkirk, N.Y., Janie Rosati and her husband Dino of Gansvoort, N.Y. She is survived by two brothers, Brian and his wife Angel of Beaufort, S.C,, and Tim and his wife Michelle of Corinth, N.Y. Friends may call between 1 to 3 p.m., on Sunday, April 18th at Pippin Funeral Home in Wyoming, Del., and between 7 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, April 20th at the Densmore Funeral Home in Corinth, New York. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. at the Holy Mother and Child Parish in Corinth, New York on Wednesday, April 21st. Burial will be at the Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville, NY. Sue would have loved for memorials to take the form of donations to the Ronald McDonald House at 45 Gay Street in Providence, Rhode Island, 02905. She spent many days there in support of the family she loved so much.
