MAGNOLIA - Steven Ray Spence passed away Friday, April 15, 2011, in his home. He was 44. Steven was born on Nov. 18, 1966, in Japan. He had worked as a laborer in construction. He also was an artist and a furniture refinisher. Steven was predeceased by his maternal grandfather, William T. Fields of Missouri; and paternal grandparents, Jesse L. Spence and Virgie Spain of Tennessee. Steven is survived by his mother, Margaret (Fields) Spence of Magnolia; his father, Jerry Spence of Hendersonville, Tenn.; a brother, Mark Spence of Magnolia; maternal grandmother, Margaret Fields of Springfield, Mo.; uncles, Bill Fields and wife Sandra of Springfield, Mo., and Paul Fields and wife Paulette of Marshfield, Mo.; and a nephew, Patrick Spence of Camden. There will be a gathering from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, April 21, at Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden-Wyoming Ave., Wyoming. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to Kent County S.P.C.A., 32 Shelter Circle, Camden, DE 19934. Letters of condolences can be sent via www.pippinfuneralhome.com.
