BERKSHIRE, N.Y. - Steven E. Loucks of Berkshire passed away Monday, Oct. 15, 2007, in Newark, N.J. He was 56.

Steven was born in Cortland, N.Y., son of Marie (Despaw) Loucks and the late Elwood Loucks.

He was a long distance truck driver and received many safety awards for his driving.

Steven had also been a dairy farmer.

He was a U.S. Army veteran and served as a paratrooper and with the military police.

Steven enjoyed NASCAR, animals, cooking and volunteering his time to those in need.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother, John Loucks.

In addition to his mother, Steven is survived by his life partner, Shari McNeil of Berkshire; two daughters, Stephanie Loomus of Grandville and Cindy Loucks of Fort Edward; a brother, Kenneth Loucks and his wife Elizabeth of Georgetown, Del.; five grandchildren; his canine truck riding partner, Gordy; a nephew, U.S. Marine Corps Sgt. Elwood John Loucks of Georgetown; a niece, Katrina Harmon of Blades, Del.; an uncle, Walter Despaw of Homer; and 13 grandnieces and grandnephews.

Memorial services and burial will be private.

Arrangements handled by Short Funeral Services, Georgetown.
