LEWES - Stephen R. "Steve" Jones of Lewes died Thursday, Nov. 30, 2006, in Lewes. He was 31.
Mr. Jones was born Dec. 14, 1974, in Newark, and moved to Lewes as a young child.
He was the supervisor of Public Works for the town of Laurel and served with the Lewes Fire Department.
Mr. Jones was a loving, devoted husband who enjoyed numerous hobbies, including horseback riding, waterskiing, fishing, hunting and jet skiing.
He is survived by his wife, Katie Jones; his parents, Pat and Bob Jones of Lewes; a brother, Chuck Jones of Lewes; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Charles and Marcia Melson of Lewes; a brother and a sister-in-law, Chuck and Jennifer Melson of Millsboro; and two nieces and a nephew, Jessica Melson, Elizabeth Melson and Chad Melson, all of Millsboro.
Services will be noon Wednesday in the Long Neck chapel of Melson Funeral Services, Long Neck Road, Millsboro.
Instead of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the Delaware Humane Society of Sussex County, 22918 DuPont Blvd., Georgetown, DE 19947.
