Stephen J. Lee

SMYRNA - Stephen J. Lee, Sr. of Smyrna, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, June 2, 2012. Mr. Lee was born Dec. 22, 1956 in Dover, Del., the son of the late Matilda E. Lee. He worked for ABF Trucking Company for 17 years and also worked for Poores Propane. Prior to that, he worked for several years for Paradee Oil Company. Stephen's hobby was his work. He also enjoyed watching his children's little league games and football games. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Elmer and Saloma Lee. He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Mary F. Lowman Lee; three sons, Stephen J. Lee, Jr. of Meyersdale, Pa., Johnny A. Lee of El Paso, Texas, and Ronald F. Lee of Smyrna; two brothers, Paul Lee and Clarence McNatt; four sisters, Peggy, Brenda, Racheal, and Martha; nine grandchildren; two special women, "Mom Edie" Loretta Wright and Susan Conley. A viewing will be held on Thursday, June 7, 2012 from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Faries Funeral Chapel, located at 29 S. Main St., Smyrna. Funeral and burial services will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to Delaware Hospice, 911 S. DuPont Hwy., Dover, DE 19904 or to any other charitable organization in his name.
