Sophie Golaszewski

DOVER -Sophie Golaszewski formerly of State Street Living died October 9, 2014 at the Capital Nursing and Rehab. Center. Born in New York, N.Y. she was the daughter of the late Vincent Centkowski and Mary Samojedna Centkowski. Mrs. Golaszewski had owned and managed a retail liquor and food business for most of her adult life until retiring at the age of 70. Her passion towards business was second to the love and enjoyment she held for her children and family. She was a kind and gentle woman who will be greatly missed by the lives she touched. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her daughter, Maryanne Peluso, in 1988 and her husband, Henry Golaszewski, in of 2001. She is survived by her loving sons, Robert Golaszewski and wife Julie of Felton and Henry Golaszewski and wife Barbara of Lynbrook, N.Y.; three grandchildren, Christopher, John and Gregory; two step-grandchildren, Andrea and Jeremy and three great- grandchildren. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, October 13, 2014 at Holy Cross Church, 631 S. State St. Dover, DE. Interment will take place in the Veterans Cemetery of Florida in Bushnell, Fla. at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, October 17, 2014. Family suggests donations in her memory to the Weill Cornell Children's Brain Tumor Project, 525 E. 68th St. Box 99 – New York, NY 10065, c/o Ana Ignat Dept. Admin.
