PHOENIXVILLE, Pa. - Sonya L. Wilson of Phoenixville, formerly of Centreville, Md., passed away Saturday, Oct. 27, 2007, in Phoenixville, as the result of a pedestrian-motor vehicle accident. She was 32.

"He said, My presence will go with you, and I will give you rest."

Sonya left this earth to rest safe in the loving arms of God.

She was the daughter of James and the late Margaret A. Stanford-Wilson.

Sonya attended Centreville Elementary and Middle schools, and graduated from Queen Anne's County High School, class of 1993.

For a brief while, she relocated to Dover, Del., to be close to her mother and her sister.

While in Dover, she was employed at Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital as a customer service associate, claims representative and cashier.

Sonya then decided to move to Phoenixville in search of a better life for her daughter and herself. In Pennsylvania, she was employed by McDonald's as a service representative.

Sonya's joy of her life was her daughter, Shamiya, and Sonya loved God with all of her heart and soul.

She constantly spoke of her newfound salvation and joy, and of how much she loved Jesus Christ and the positive changes that salvation had made in her life.

Sonya was a happy person and she loved to have fun.

She also loved to read and write.

More than anything else, she will always be remembered as a young lady who always spoke what was on her mind.

In addition to her father and best friend, James Wilson of Bridgeville, she is also survived by her daughter, the love of her life, Shamiya Wilson; one loving and devoted sister, Cassandra Wilson of Dover; darling nieces, Shaquita and Cassandra Bass; a devoted nephew, Jamar Smith; and her grandmother, uncles, aunts, cousins, special friends and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be noon Wednesday in Mt. Olive United Methodist New Hope Church, Centreville, (Ruthsberg, Md.), where friends may call two hours prior.

Interment will be in Coker's Cemetery in Greensboro, Md.

Arrangements by Deborah E. Harris-Nock Funeral Services, Greenwood, Del.
