DOVER - Shirley L. Bush died Saturday, Aug. 3, 2013 at her home in Dover. Shirley was born Oct. 12, 1926 in Bridgeville to William L. Lord, Sr., and Madeline Fry Lord. She was a 1944 graduate of Bridgeville High School and a 1948 graduate of the University of Delaware, majoring in Economics. Shirley met the love of her life, the Honorable William G. Bush, III while attending the University of Delaware. They married in 1949. She spent most of her life as a homemaker. Shirley loved to travel, play bridge, read, and spend time with her son, daughter-in-law and grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband. She is survived by her son William G. Bush, IV and his wife Carrie B. Bush, of Wyoming; grandchildren, William G. Bush, V, Mason J. Bush, and Jonathan X. Bush, of Wyoming; brother, William L. Lord, Jr. and his wife Sandra S. Lord, of Rehoboth Beach; sister, Elizabeth Wilkie of Dover; nephews William L. Lord, III of South Carolina, John B. Lord of Dover, and Gregory R. Wilkie of Newark; nieces, Megan Madigan of Virginia, Wendy A. Petrosky of Wyoming, and Vickie Duke of Felton. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 9, 2013 at Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road (Rt.10), Dover. Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Interment will be in Lakeside cemetery, Dover.
