HARRINGTON - Shirley E. Simonds passed away peacefully on Friday, December 13, 2013 with her family by her side, after a long battle with heart disease. Shirley dedicated her life to her family and dogs. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was born in Easton, Maryland, daughter of the late Owen S. Price and Grace Brown Price, on December 3, 1933. She graduated from Easton High School, class of 1952. She retired from the US Nuclear Regulatory Commission after 27 years, with faithful service to the Federal government, in 1988. In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by her brother, James E. Price. Shirley is survived by her husband of 30 years, Gerald E. Simonds; daughter, Cindi VanVliet and her husband Tom; brother, Clifford Price of South Carolina; sister in law, Pamela Price of Easton, Md.; granddaughters, Jessica Lyn and Heidi Marie; great granddaughter, Briella Elizabeth; and great grandson, Colton Andrew due in March 2014. The services for Shirley will be handled privately by the family's discretion. Funeral services entrusted to Bennie Smith Funeral Home, Dover. www.benniesmithfuneralhome.com
