Shirley Ann Burris, 71

CAMDEN - Shirley Ann Burris, of Camden, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, Jan. 5, 2008. She was surrounded by her children and grandchildren. She was 71.

Mrs. Burris was born May 21, 1936, in Ridgley, Md., daughter of the late Ralph and Eva Moore.

She graduated from Felton High School.

In her early working career, Mrs. Burris worked at Kent General Hospital as a nurse's assistant. She drove a school bus with her husband. She also worked at the Delaware Home and Hospital for the Chronically Ill until 1984, due to her disability.

She enjoyed crocheting and working on puzzles, especially seek and find. She also loved to cook.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Beatrice Ogg, who went to the Lord on June 11, 2006.

She is survived by her children, Shirley Ann Burris and her boyfriend Lance Pritchett and their daughter Ashley, who lived with Shirley. Shirley Ann took wonderful and great care of her mother since her illness in 1984. She is also survived by her other children, Doris Ann Adams and her husband Jay and their daughter Lindsay, Beverly Ann Lepore and her husband Nick and their son Zachary, and Robert T. Burris Jr. and his wife Carolyn and their children Robert III, Kelsey and Tristin; a brother and sister-in-law, Byron and Grace Moore of Sandtown; her brother-in-law, Lincoln Ogg of Milford; her ex-husband, Robert T. Burris Sr. and his girlfriend Carolyn Haass, who was also a devoted friend; and several nieces, grandnieces, grandnephews and friends.

Services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden-Wyoming Ave., Wyoming, where a viewing will begin at noon.

Burial will be in Sharon Hills Memorial Park, Dover.
