Sherwood W. Bard

Sherwood W. Bard, 70 FELTON - Sherwood W. Bard, 70, of Felton, died May 4, 2010. Born in North Waterford, Maine, he was the son of the late Willard and Mary Esther Long Bard. He had served in the U.S. Navy from 1956 until 1960. Mr. Bard then worked as a jockey from Maine to Florida. He also enjoyed blacksmithing and harness racing. He had been a dedicated father, grandfather, and great grandfather. In his quieter moments he enjoyed the company of his family. He will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him. Mr. Bard is survived by four loving children, Jana Hubbard, of Ocean City, Md., Ricky Bard, of Tolleson, Ariz., Tina Aquil, of Pakistan, and Wendy Solomon, of Montoursville, Pa.; 12 grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his companion, Jennifer Salldin, of Felton. A Memorial service in Maine will be held at a later date. Arrangements are by Michael J. Ambruso Funeral Director, Inc.
