COLUMBUS, Ga. - Sheldon C. Scott of Columbus died Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2007, in his home. He was 43.
Mr. Scott was born March 13, 1963, in Philadelphia, son of William and Mary Maloy Scott.
He attended Smyrna High School in Smyrna, Del., and Chattahoochee Valley Community College in Columbus.
He married Angela Murphy July 7, 1984.
He was a U.S. Army veteran.
He worked for John Mansfield Co. of Phoenix City, Ala., as warehouse supervisor for the past four years.
He enjoyed woodworking, and was a Christian follower of the House of God.
He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, son and brother.
He was preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Cora Murphy; and uncles Wayman Scott, James Scott and Harry Scott, James Maloy and Ronald Berry Sr.
He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Angela G. Scott of Columbus; three children, Shevenchko Scott of Atlanta and Aarine Scott and Shella Scott, both of Columbus; his parents, William and Mary Scott of Smyrna; a brother, William J. Scott of Smyrna; a sister, Rachel Scott of Wilmington, Del.; his father-in-law, Burke Murphy of Columbus; nieces and nephews, India Scott, Jayla Scott-Cottman, Jasryn Scott-Cottman, and Brian Scott-Hill; aunts and uncles, Nova Scott, Lowan Scott, Lester and Alberta Scott, Margaret Bowers, Melvin and Mary Ann Scott, Edith Berry, Lewis and Annette Scott, Daniel and Nancy Scott, Eula and William Oliver, Viola and David Johnson, William Maloy, Rosa Maloy, Jimmie Lou Miller, Mattie and Ames Growe, Mary F. Scott, Carrie A. Miller, Charlie F. and Evelyn Bruce and Elder Alfred Sr. and Jacqueline Miller; and several cousins.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today in McMullen Funeral Home, 3874 Gentian Blvd., Columbus.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday in the funeral home. Elder Alfred Miller Sr. will officiate.
Burial will follow in Parkhill Cemetery, Columbus.
