JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Sara F. Allen, of Jacksonville, formerly of Clayton, Del., passed away Monday, March 17, 2008, in Regents Park Nursing Home of Jacksonville. She was 81.
Mrs. Allen was born Aug. 22, 1926, in Queen Anne's County, Md., the daughter of the late John E. and Elizabeth Ransom Cahall.
She was a homemaker and a former Sunday school teacher in the Wesleyan Church of Smyrna, Del.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lester L. Allen; and a brother, Edward Cahall.
She is survived by a son, Lester L. Allen Jr. and his wife Sayoko, with whom she lived; five grandchildren, William, Scott and Eric Allen, all of Jacksonville, Greer Bagos of Chula Vista, Calif., and Sandy Miller, also of Chula Vista; and six great-grandchildren, Andrew, Matthew, Nicholas, Ashton and Christopher Allen, all of Jacksonville, and Jason Miller Jr. of Chula Vista.
Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday in the Faries Funeral Chapel, 29 S. Main St., Smyrna, where friends may call one hour prior to the services.
