GEORGETOWN - Sandy Lee Renai passed away peacefully Friday, Oct. 5, 2007, at her home in the Stockley Center, Georgetown, and joined her father, Pete Renai Sr. She was 48.
She was the inspiration for many projects at the Stockley Center: a new wheelchair project, a therapy pool named "The Sandy Lee Renai Aquatic Therapy Center" and a state of the art medical center. Thanks to all who supported these projects.
Sandy is survived by her loving mother, Franny (McNesby) Renai; her sister, Terry Reilly and her husband Tom; her sister, Geri Brainard; her brother, Pete Jr. and his wife Mary Beth; and her nieces and nephews, Michael Reilly, Neil Reilly, TJ Brainard, Pete Renai III, Jill Brainard and Allie Renai.
Her family would like to thank Dr. Erik Stancofski and Dr. Harry Anagnostakos and the nurses and staff of the Critical Care Unit at Beebe Hospital for their compassionate care.
They would also like to extend their most sincere gratitude to Sandy"s "other family," the doctors, nurses, and staff of the Stockley Center, especially her social worker, Jim Tillman, as they cared, loved and respected her for 47 years as they worked to give her a dignified and wonderful life.
Services will be private.
Instead of flowers, the family suggests contributions in Sandy"s memory to the Stockley Therapy Pool, The Stockley Center, 26351 Patriots Way, Georgetown, DE 19947.
