Samuel Glendon Mosley, 88

MILFORD - Samuel Glendon Mosley, of Milford, died Wednesday, Dec. 13, 2006, in Bayhealth-Milford Memorial Hospital. He was 88.

Mr. Mosley was born March 26, 1918, in Milford, son of the late Horace and Margaret (Seeney) Mosley.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Mr. Mosley was a self-employed farmer until 1991.

He served as a Kent County constable and deputy sheriff from 1971 to 1983.

Mr. Mosley enjoyed refinishing antiques and spending time with his family.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Daisy (Hall) Mosley, in 1996; two sons, Larry Mosley and Arnold Mosley; three brothers, Vernon Mosley, Reginald Mosley and Hershel Mosley.

He is survived by three daughters and three sons-in-law, Marion and Mack Harmon of Baltimore, Brenda and Jerry Pepka of Baltic, Conn., and Laura and John Sullivan of Milford; 11 grandchildren, Nikita Harmon, Deborah Thompson, Lise Masten, Samuel G. Mosley II, Mona Rodriguez, Shelly Kincade, Chris Mosley, Scott Pepka, Angela Jenks, Joel Sullivan and Colby Sullivan; and 17 great-grandchildren.

Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday in Torbert Funeral Chapel, 61 S. Bradford St., Dover, where friends may call one hour earlier.

Burial will be in Immanuel Union United Methodist Cemetery, Cheswold.

Instead of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the American Brain Tumor Association, 2720 River Road, Des Plaines, IL 60018.
