MILLINGTON, Md. - Samuel "Cookie" George Daniels, of Millington, died Wednesday, July 6, 2011, at Easton Memorial Hospital in Easton, Md. He was 69. Samuel G. Daniels was born June 15, 1942, in Pondtown, Md., the son of the late James Alfred Daniels and Madeline "Elliott" Daniels. Mr. Daniels attended Kinard High School and after the 11th grade, left school to go to work. Mr. Daniels worked several jobs which included farming and eventually working as a lineman for Atlantic Aviation in 1965 where he worked for 34 years. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge 22. He loved to fish, work on cars, drag race, and interact with people. Throughout his life he was always a leader and never a follower, always doing things his way. Mr. Daniels is survived by his wife Joan M. Daniels of Millington, Md.; one daughter, Vickie D. Russell-Ward and husband Denzil Ward of Brooklyn, N.Y.; six sons, Samuel Garfield Daniels of Millington, Md., William Daniels of Magnolia, Del., Calvin Dewayne Daniels of Dover, Del., Cornell D. Haman of Kansas City, Melvin J. Haman of Chestertown, Md., Mark E. Haman of Centreville, Md.; eight grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. Services will be 1 p.m., Friday, July 15, 2011, at Fellows, Helfenbein and Newnam Funeral Home, 370 W. Cypress St., Millington. A visitation will be held one hour prior. Interment will be held in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Pondtown, Md., following the service. Online condolences can be sent to the family at www.fhnfuneralhome.com.
