Ruth Sweetman Frazier passed away Jan. 14, 2022 at home in Spring Branch, Texas. Ruth was born July 20, 1921 near Magnolia, daughter of Bayard and Lillie Sweetman.
Ruth's first job was at the Woodside Market. Ruth graduated from Caesar Rodney High School in 1939. She then worked at Dupont in Wilmington, Playtex in Dover and finally for Dr. W. W. McCoy in Dover retiring in 1982. She enjoyed reading, knitting, crocheting, needle point, antiquing, traveling and playing cards. She looked forward to bowling weekly with Modern Maturity and Club 55 leagues. Her favorite programs to watch on TV were The Antique Roadshow, AFV, golf, bowling, cooking and games shows.
She will be missed by her children, Virgil (Glenys) of Spring Branch, Texas and Marilyn Church of Dover; daughter-in-law, Donna Frazier-Durham of Harrington; her grandchildren, Veronica Frazier-Nolin (Roger) of San Antonio, Texas, Jason Church, Jesse (Courtney) Church of Dover, Sara (Jonathan) Absher of Laurel, Melanie Frazier and Jonathan Frazier of Seaford. She had 7 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents; Ruth was preceded in death by her ten siblings; her husband, Virgil of 57 years; son, Dennis; granddaughter, Shonna Church; and son-in-law, Paul Church.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at Central Worship Center in Laurel on Saturday, February 19, 2022 at 5 p.m. Burial will be at Sharon Hills Memorial Park on Monday, February 21, 2022 at 9:30 a.m.
