MILLSBORO - Ruth Scheid Caldwell of Millsboro died Thursday, June 28, 2007, in Riddle Memorial Hospital, Media, Pa. She was 87.
Mrs. Caldwell was born in Philadelphia, daughter of the late Alfred and Elizabeth Scheid.
She was a resident of Millsboro for 20 years and a one-time resident of Boothwyn, Pa., and Folcroft, Pa.
She graduated from Ridley Park High School in 1938.
Mrs. Caldwell was employed as a waitress for many years.
She really enjoyed playing cards and bingo.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert T. Caldwell Sr.; and a son, Robert T. Caldwell Jr.
She is survived by sons, Walter A. Harding of Millsboro, Charles F. Harding of Millsboro, William J. Caldwell of Seaford and Richard J. Caldwell of Media, Pa.; daughters, Sandra K. Harding Jones of Georgetown and Sharon E. Cook of Millsboro; a sister, June A. Jakavick of Media, Pa.; 20 grandchildren; and 40 great-grandchildren.
Services and burial will be private.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer Association, Robert Morris Building, 100 N. 17th St., 2nd Floor, Philadelphia, PA 19103; or to a charity of choice.
