Ruth Nichols Dean

HARRINGTON - Ruth Nichols Dean passed away on Feb. 18, 2018 in Milford. She was born in Dover, on Dec. 15, 1928 to the late Charles E. and Bertha Phillips Nichols.
She was a graduate of Greensboro High School who went on to marry Stanley C. Dean. Mrs. Dean worked as a Senior Support Supervisor for Titles and Registration for the Department of Motor Vehicles for the State of Delaware. She was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Greensboro, Md.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley Dean; sisters, Betty Shulties and Ann Stoops; brother, Bill Nichols; and is survived by son, C. Lee (Margaret) Dean of Harrington; daughter, Lynn (Bobby) Outten of Harrington; two grandchildren, Jason (Allison Tatman) Dean and Jeffrey Outten; and three great grandchildren, Cody Outten, Nathan Outten and Austin Dean.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, Feb. 23, 2018 at 1 p.m. at Fleegle and Helfenbein Funeral Home in Greensboro, Md. with visitation one hour prior. Interment will follow at Greensboro Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Vitas Healthcare (Hospice) 20265 Commerce Drive, Suite 202/205 Millsboro, Delaware 19960 or to the Alzheimer's Association at alz.org.
