Ruth M. Stevens, 80

GREENWOOD - Ruth M. Stevens, of Greenwood, died Tuesday, May 27, 2008, at Bayhealth-Milford Memorial Hospital. She was 80.

She was born to the late Freeman and Ethel Horner.

Mrs. Stevens retired from Caulk Dentsply after 25 years of employment, where she was a silk screener.

She was a homemaker.

Mrs. Stevens enjoyed spending time at home where she helped her husband with horse training.

She enjoyed going to the horse races and slots, and eating out.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Barr Horner.

She is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, James Dudley Stevens of Greenwood; daughters and son-in-law, Lorraine Duncan and Anna M. and Ronald Collins, all of Milford; her grandchildren, J.R. Jester, Janet Carroll, Philip Duncan, Veronica Jester and Summer Melvin; and six great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Melvin Funeral Home, 15522 S. Dupont Highway, Harrington, where a visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. on Saturday.

Burial will be in St. Johnstown Cemetery, Greenwood.
