Ruth Elizabeth Le Quear, 90 MILFORD - Ruth Elizabeth Le Quear, 90, was called by the lord Wednesday, Jan. 20, 2010. She was a beloved mother, treasured grandmother and a long time supportive friend to many. Ruth was born in Solebury Twp, Pa., to the late Frank Koon and Mary Elizabeth (Meyers) Ditto. Ruth would often share stories of her childhood-growing up in Center Bridge, Pa., with her two older siblings. After graduating high school she worked as a bank teller. She met her husband, Ernest Chester Le Quear while ice skating. They made their home in Stockton, N.J., and she went to homemaking full time. They had one son, Robert Ernest Le Quear. Ruth enjoyed crocheting and sewing, skills she learned from her mother, and for several years worked as a seamstress. She was an active member of the Berean Baptist Church (now Stockton Wesleyan Church) and played the church organ for countless services. Ruth devoted much of her time and energy as a caregiver to those in need, including her mother until she passed away at age 96 and her husband until he passed at age 66. One of her long time dreams was to live in Doylestown, Pa. In 1986 she purchased a home and made the move to Doylestown. For the last five years, Ruth lived in Frederica. She recently became a resident at the Milford Center, Genesis Eldercare. Despite moving several times and living a distance from friends and family, she remained in continuous contact with loved ones via regular telephone conversations and hand written letters. Ruth's unwaivering love and support was widely felt by all who knew her. Recently one of her friends of many decades shared "she was the bones in my legs when I was weak." She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Robert and Carolyn Le Quear of Felton; one granddaughter, Dr. Meredith M. Arthur and her husband Joseph; three step-grandchildren, Cynthia Vrabec and her husband Edward, Christine Nucera and her husband Michael and Robert Harris and his wife Kim; 11 step-great-grandchildren; an aunt as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Ruth was preceded in death by her sister, Virginia Brillman; and brother Guy Ditto. A memorial celebration of Ruth's life will be planned. Complete information to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Stockton Wesleyan Church, 12 South Main Street, Stockton, NJ 08559. Arr. by McKnatt, Carpenter & Baker Funeral Home, Harrington.
