Ruth E. Geisel, 80

DENTON, Md. - Ruth E. Geisel, of Denton, died Thursday, Sept. 25, 2008, at the Memorial Hospital in Easton. She was 80. Born in Denton, Mrs. Geisel was the daughter of the late John Henry Mowbray and Margaret Pauline Bradley Mowbray. Her husband, Cloyd Paul Geisel Sr. died Jan. 29, 1987. Mrs. Geisel lived near Denton all of her life. She was a farmer's wife and homemaker. She also was a cafeteria manager for the Caroline County Board of Education. She was at North Caroline High School for five years and then at Lockerman Middle School for five years. She retired in 1979. Mrs. Geisel is survived by two sons, Cloyd Paul (Pete) Geisel Jr. and Dale Patrick Geisel, both of Denton; one daughter, Kathy Lynn Schuyler of Denton; four grandchildren, Kristy Schuyler, Lisa Marie Schuyler, Sarah Schuyler, and Amanda Geisel; a great-granddaughter, Michelle Bailey; a great-grandson, Chase Sard; five brothers, James Mowbray of Federalsburg, William Mowbray of Preston, Wilson Mowbray of Florida, Thomas M. Mowbray of Tullahona, Tenn., and George Mowbray; and three sisters, Evelyn Slacum of Cambridge, Dorothy Childs of Lake City Fla., and Helen Lewis of East New Market. A graveside service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Denton Cemetery. There will be a viewing/visitation from 6-8 on Monday evening. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests for friends to send memorial contributions to the Caroline County Hospice Foundation, P.O. Box 362, Denton, MD 21629. Arrangements by Moore Funeral Home, Denton.
