Ruth A. (Houy) Johnson, 96
MILFORD - Ruth A. (Houy) Johnson of Milford died Wednesday, Feb. 14, 2007, in Bayhealth-Milford Memorial Hospital. She was 96.
Mrs. Johnson was born in Pittsburgh, daughter of the late Peter Francis and Josephine (Favre) Houy.
She was a homemaker.
She enjoyed reading, working crossword puzzles and flower gardening. She enjoyed traveling with her husband, prior to his death. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Johnson was extremely active up until a few months ago. She was a member of the Reformation Lutheran Church, Milford, and the Milford Senior Center.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ivar C. Johnson, in 2001; and a daughter, Janice J. Osterholm, in 2006.
She is survived by a sister, Rita Peters of Pittsburgh; two granddaughters and their husbands, Jill and Kelly Racz of Lewes, and Anne and Greg Pribble of Evington, Va.; five great-grandchildren, Emily Racz, Andrew Racz, Chandler Pribble, Connor Pribble and Courtney Pribble; a son-in-law, Albert V. Osterholm of Milford; and her extended family, Jon (Albert"s brother) and Kathy Osterholm, of Rehoboth Beach.
Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Friday in Reformation Lutheran Church, 613 Lakeview Ave., Milford.
Instead of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the Reformation Lutheran Church Memorial Fund, 613 Lakeview Ave., Milford, DE 19963.
