FREDERICA - Russell Harris, died suddenly on Sunday, Aug. 19, 2012. Born in Philadelphia, Pa., he was the son of the late Russell and Viola Harrington Harris. Mr. Harris had retired in 1998 from the DuPont Co. in Seaford where he had worked as a machinist. He was a dedicated husband, father and loving grandfather who enjoyed the time he spent with his family and friends. In his quieter moments he enjoyed gardening and fishing. Russ will be greatly missed by those whose lives he had touched. Mr. Harris is survived by his wife, Carolyn Jean Harris of Frederica; a daughter, Michelle Kriss and husband William, of Frederica; three sons, Russell Harris and wife Sandi, of S.C., Richard Harris and wife Toni, of S.C., and Ronald Harris and wife Jennifer, of Harrington; along with four loving grandchildren. Friends may call starting at 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 25, 2012, at Holy Cross Church, 631 S. State St., Dover, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at noon. Interment will be in Barratt's Chapel Cemetery in Frederica, DE. Family suggests donations in his memory be made to the Frederica Volunteer Fire Co., 6 Front Street, Frederica, DE 19946.
