Rudolph A. 'Rudy' Zeleny Sr., 78
LEWES - Rudolph A. "Rudy" Zeleny Sr. of Lewes died peacefully Sunday, Oct. 15, 2006, in his home, surrounded by his loved ones. He was 78.
Mr. Zeleny was born May 3, 1928, in New York, son of the late Anton J. and Rose A. (Adamac) Zeleny.
She was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.
He retired in 1984, after serving for 20 years as the director of maintenance and engineering for Prince Georges General Hospital, Prince Georges County, Md.
In 1993, he moved to Lewes from Landover Hills, Md.
Mr. Zeleny was a member of the American Hospital Association and St. Jude The Apostle Catholic Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Rose Ronan.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Anna (Roddy) Zeleny; two sons and two daughters-in-law, Rudolph A. Jr. and Jodi Zeleny of Cordova, Md., and Michael A. Sr. and Alicia Zeleny of Greenbelt, Md.; a daughter and a son-in-law, Ann Z. and Michael Mills of Colonial Beach, Va.; five grandchildren and a grandson-in-law, Megan Z. and Alex Miller of Hyattsville, Md., Michael A. Zeleny Jr. of Greenbelt, and Dain R. Zeleny, Austin M. Zeleny and Leslie Anna Zeleny, all of Cordova; and a sister, Dorothy Bishop of Rockville, Md.
A Memorial Mass will be 11 a.m. Friday in St. Jude The Apostle Catholic Church, Del. 1, north of Five Points, Lewes, where friends may call one hour earlier.
Burial will be private.
Arrangements by Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Lewes.
