Ruby S. Morris, 82

SMYRNA -- Ruby S. Morris, of Smyrna, passed away Friday, Oct. 17, 2008, at Capitol Healthcare Services, Dover. She was 82. She was born May 12, 1926, in Colquitt, Ga., daughter of the late Joseph and Catherine Sheffield. Ruby worked as a baker in the Smyrna High School cafeteria, and retired from the State of Delaware after working for the Delaware Home and Hospital in Smyrna for many years. She was a loving and dedicated mother and grandmother. She is survived by her children and spouses, Kathy Francis and husband Bill, Nancy Clark and Jay Schuman, and Alan Morris, all of Smyrna, Susan Pechacek and husband Tracy of Hartly, James Morris and Pam Vargo, of New Castle, and Sam Morris and wife Nancy of Mine Hill, N.J.; a sister, Beth Mazock and husband George of Crestview, Fla.; grandchildren, Nory White and husband Denny, JC Francis and wife Selina, Tammy Carns and husband Will, Mary Francis and fiancé Chris Deusa, Justin Walsh, John Francis, Alex Pechacek, Zachary Morris and Sarah Morris; and great-grandchildren, C.J. White and Parker White. Services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday at Matthews-Bryson Funeral Home, 123 W. Commerce St., Smyrna, where friends may call Tuesday evening from 7-9 p.m. Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Smyrna. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to the Smyrna-Clayton Ministerium, c/o First Presbyterian Church, 118 W. Commerce St., Smyrna, DE 19977.
