Roy 'Skip' Hazzard, 86
Roy "Skip" Hazzard of Spring Branch, Texas formerly of Milford, Delaware; went home to the Lord on Wednesday, January 26, 2022, in Austin, Texas. Roy was born April 21, 1935, to the late Walter B. and Jean V. (Webb) Hazzard in Milford, Delaware and was the eldest of six children.
Roy joined the Navy and served during the Korean War aboard the aircraft carrier, USS Ticonderoga. During much of his adult life, he worked for several years at First State Community Action in Georgetown, Delaware retiring at the grand age of 81. He was a caring, compassionate, loving father and grandfather not only to his natural born, but also to several family members whom he took in to start an improved path at succeeding in life. Roy always put others first and will always be remembered as being a very generous and humble man who loved all people from all walks of life. He strived to provide for his family and above all, loved both of his sons and all his grandchildren tremendously, making them his priority during his later years.
In addition to his parents; he was preceded in death by his brother, Dennis. He is survived by his two sons, Tor (Jennifer) of Lincoln, Delaware and Eric of Spring Branch, Texas; brothers, Walt, Dean (Margy), Rick (Carla), and Sister Jill; five grandchildren, Morgan, Madison, Carson, McKenna, and Erica; along with several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his former wife, Carmen whom he enjoyed traveling with to Mexico several times with their two sons, and whom he still had a loving friendship with up until he passed away.
Roy will be interned at the Delaware Veterans Memorial in Millsboro, Delaware where services will be announced at a later date.
The family asks for donations of any kind be made to your local SPCA, if you choose in remembrance of him.
