Roy A. Mast

GREENWOOD - Roy A. Mast of Greenwood, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, January 6, 2016. He was born in Apple Creek, Ohio on February 18, 1932 to Andrew and Mary Wengered Mast. Roy was drafted in 1952 during the Korean Conflict. He served his time at the State Hospital at Farnhust, Del. He later moved to the Greenwood area where he married his wife Olive Schrock Mast on January 12, 1957. Roy was a fine mason and left his handprint on many a home on the Eastern shore. His most important jobs was serving the Lord and being a good pop pop. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his grandson, David Mast; his sister, Lovina Taylor; his step-mother, Anna Swartz Mast; and his sister-in-law, Fannie Mast. Roy was survived by his wife, Olive of 59 years; and they were blessed with (four) children, Doug Mast and his wife Carol, Daniel Mast, Sharon Wescott, and Michelle Morgan all of Greenwood; (two) brothers, Abe Mast and his wife Laura of Charm, Ohio, and Dan Mast and his wife Martha of Millersburg, Ohio; (four) sisters, Emma Schlabach and her husband Ray of Guthree, Ky., Ada Burkholder and her husband Aden of Millersburg, Ohio, Mary Miller and her husband Ervin of Apple Creek, Ohio, and Sarah Mast of Millersburg, Ohio; (seven) grandchildren, Jordan, Trevor, Logan, Gabriel, Lextyn Wescott, Payton Mast, and Douglas Mast; a foster daughter, Lois Jean Clark and she has two sons; (four) step grandchildren, Kenny and Alie Jackson, Jason Smith, and EJ Jones; and numerous extended family and friends. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 13, 2016 at 2 p.m., at the Greenwood Mennonite Church, 12525 Shawnee Road, Greenwood, DE 19950. Family and friends may call at the church on Tuesday, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. and on Wednesday from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Internment will be held at the church cemetery. Donations may be made on-line to www.samaritanspurse.org, earmark for freshwater wells. Arrangements by Fleischauer Funeral Home, Greenwood.
