Ronald L. Salter, Sr. passed away in his home in New Castle, Delaware on May 26, 2022. Ronald, simply known as "Ron" by his close friends and family, was born June 1, 1948, in Covington, Kentucky to the late Thomas W. and Margaret L. Salter.
Ronald served his country in the United States Air Force. After leaving the military, Ronald obtained his bachelor's degree in Accounting and Business Administration from Delaware State College, now known as Delaware State University. He later retired from the United States Customs and Immigration after 25 years of service.
In addition to his parents; he was preceded in death by his son, Ronald L. Salter, Jr.; and one brother, Thomas "Ricky" Salter.
Ron is survived by one sister, Carolyn J. Salter (Williams); four brothers, Michael O. Salter (Delores), Darrell L. Salter, Darnell L. Salter, Dwight E. Salter; four children, Terrance Neal, Sr. (Vernisia), Timothy Jones, James Jones, and Taja Jones (Eric Jones); one sister-in-law, Earlene Salter; a special granddaughter, Tanee; and grandson, Little Terry; 15 grandkids; and 17 great grandkids.
A private family memorial will be held at a later date reserved for close friends and family. Any well wishes and cards can be sent to Taja Jones 385 Nimitz Road, Dover, DE 19901.
