LEWES - Robert M. Crawford, of Lewes, passed away on Saturday, April 14, 2012, at Wolpz Hospice Center in Dobson, N.C. He was 85. He was born in Drexel Hill, Pa., the son of the late James Maurice "Booka" Crawford and Dorothy Goetz Crawford. He was a veteran of the Merchant Marines serving during World War II. He was an engineer for Philadelphia Electric Co. retiring in 1987. He enjoyed playing golf, bird watching and squirrel trapping, dining out, drinking coffee, driving his vehicle and reminiscing about days gone by. He could fix just about everything. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret E. McKendrick Crawford in 2003; and his brother, John "Jack" Crawford. He is survived by three children, Robert M. Crawford Jr. and his wife Nancy, Deborah Lynn Crawford-Imbus and her husband Mark and Allysann Elizabeth "Jake" Jakubowski Harper and her husband Mike; one brother, Donald Crawford; and two grandchildren, Christopher Lee Imbus and Nathan Harper. A visitation will be held on Saturday, April 21, 2012, from 1 to 1:45 p.m. in the chapel of Short Funeral Services, 416 Federal St., Milton. Graveside services will follow at 2 p.m. at St. Peters Episcopal Church Cemetery, Pilottown Road, Lewes. Contributions may be made to: Alzheimer's Association, P.O. Box 625, Georgetown, DE 19947.
