Robert Lloyd Gray Jr., 80

MILLSBORO - Robert Lloyd Gray Jr. of Millsboro, formerly of Chester, Pa., died Friday, Dec. 22, 2006, in his home. He was 80.

Mr. Gray was a resident of Pot-Nets for 28 years.

He was born April 1, 1926, in Aberdeen, Miss., son of the late Robert Lloyd Sr. and Jewell (Porter) Gray.

Mr. Gray was 1941 graduate of Smedley Junior High School, a 1944 graduate of Chester High School, 1951 graduate of Swarthmore College and 1959 graduated of the University of Pennsylvania.

He served the Air National Guard in high school and later served with the U.S. Army during World War II as a rifleman and radio repairman.

He was a retired electrical and electronics engineer and project manager for Burroughs Corporation and Hewlett Packard.

Mr. Gray was a member of the American Legion, AARP, and lifetime member of IEEE.

He was preceded in death by his wife Elizabeth "Betty" (Collins) Gray and a sister, Ella Louise (Gray) Reynolds.

He is survived by a daughter, Susan Gray; a son and a daughter-in-law, Steven and Jean Foley Gray; two grandchildren, Colleen Elizabeth Gray and Adam Joseph Gray; two brothers, Andrew Franklin Gray of Smyrna and William Raymond Gray of Aston, Pa.; and a sister, Sylvia Marie (Gray) Foreacre of Caldwell, Idaho.

A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Jan. 6 in the chapel of Melson Funeral Services, Long Neck Road, Millsboro.

Burial will be private and at a later date.
