Robert Leroy Wilby Robert Wilby returned home to the Lord on February 6, 2021. Bob was born on August 20, 1932 in Philadelphia Pennsylvania to Russell H. Wilby and Leona A. (Hartzel) Wilby both deceased. He was a longtime resident of Norristown, Pa. before moving to Hartley, Delaware. For 50 years Bob was a long distance truck driver for independent companies as well as MATLACK, Ridge Holmes, and USPS. Bob enjoyed reading, painting ceramics, gardening and dancing. Bob proudly served his country in the U.S. army and was a Korean War Vet. He was a Civil War buff. Bob was best known as a fun-loving person, always with a smile on his face. He had a desire to help anyone in a moment's notice. He particularly loved his time in Florida dancing, site seeing, and meeting new friends. Bob was a member of the VFW, Moose, and American Legion. Bob is survived by his significant other, Helen Schelts of Smyrna; brother, Joseph Wilby; and six children, JoAnne Wilby Hoy, Robert Wilby Jr., James Wilby, Charlotte Reese (Wilby) and Scott Wilby; nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Bob is also survived by stepson, Greg Hurst, wife Karen and children Ken, John, and Danielle; stepdaughter Tammy Dellavella (Steve) children Mark and Nicholas; and stepdaughter Carol Leon (fiancé Tom) and children Lisa and Carli. In addition to his parents; Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Hurst Wilby; son, Michael Wilby; siblings, Russell J. Wilby, Walter L. Wilby, Richard Wilby, and Viola Wilby. A celebration of life was be held at a later date.
