MAGNOLIA - Doodle passed away Jan. 7, 2019 at Kent General Hospital in Dover. Doodle was born on Dec. 9, 1962 to Maude "Pee Wee" and the late Robert "Jimmy" James Cox, Sr.
Doodle was a very giving and compassionate family man. He was a co-owner of C & C drywall, with his very close late Uncle Buddy for many years. Doodle was one of the best drywall men around. He was also employed by K & S Drywall and Spacecon. He was an avid sports fan of the Steelers, Orioles, Lakers and fantasy football, he never missed a game. He was dedicated to and proud of his family, especially his grandchildren which lived with him all their lives. He enjoyed hunting with his rabbit dogs and fishing. He was devoted to his dog Casius and joins in heaven his loving companion Tink Tink.
He was proceeded in death by his paternal grandparents, Jeannette and James Parker Cox; his brother, Daniel Lloyd Cox; father, Robert James Cox, Sr.; his uncle, Fritz "Buddy" Cox; nephew, Tyler Cox; and his grandson, Corey Birney.
He is survived by his mother, Maude E. Lloyd Cox-Baker; his four children, Dawn Cox, Jeannette Birney, Bonnie-Sue Cox, and Robert James Cox III and his wife Glenda; his brothers, Michael Cox and wife Nene, and Jason Cox, all of Magnolia; nine grandchildren, Marcus, Lexi, Christian, JJ, Natalie, Kevin, Honesty, Robert IV and Kaydince; nephews, Mike, James, Anthony, Braylen, Tyson and Xavier; and niece Ashleigh; cousins, Tara Cox and Kevin Cox (whom was like a brother) and his wife Spencer, Cindy and Donna Pleasanton, Kenny Cox; and life long best friend, Bryant Fridley; along with a number of other cousins, aunts, uncles, family and friends too numerous to mention.
Visitation is Tuesday, Jan 15, 2019 from 6 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday at 10 a.m. until time of service at 11a.m. at Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden-Wyoming Ave., Wyoming. Interment to follow at Sharon Hills Memorial Park, Dover.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Pippin Funeral Home to help defray funeral expenses.
