FELTON - Robert J. Seward, Jr., passed away on Friday, April 9, 2021 at Bayhealth Sussex Campus.
Robert was born on June 15, 1933, in Easton, Maryland, to the late Robert Jacob Seward, Sr., and Ethel Alinda (Pratt) Seward.
He worked for Playtex and also owned and operated his own dump truck for five years and worked for Wyoming block Concrete and retired several years ago. He was also a lifelong farmer and enjoyed farming the land with his father.
In addition to his parents; Robert is preceded in death by his loving wife, Mary A. (Boone) Seward; and brothers in law, Ernie A. Creed and Robert Messick.
Robert will be greatly missed by his loving family and friends. His survivors include, two sisters, Anne Creed and Norma Lee Messick; two daughters, Nancy Miles (Jesse) of Viola, and Linda Clark (Roger) of Harrington; two sons, David Seward and companion Beverly, and Robbie Seward both of Felton; six grandchildren, Jason Miles (Jen), Keith Miles (Shelly), Cory Miles (Jessica Taylor), Jessica Miles (John McClister), Eric Durham (Nicole), and Jamie Seward; 16 great-grandchildren, Breanna, Caila, J.J., Sam and Emily Miles, Mackenzi and Camaro Miles, Lane and Emmy McClister, Aiden, Mia and Macy Durham, Jailynne, Jose, Jazmyn and Jarissa Seward; as well as 31 nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
A funeral service will be held at Noon on Saturday, April 17, 2021 in the chapel of Berry-Short Funeral Homes, 217 Main Street, Felton, Del 19943. A time of visitation for family and friends will begin at 11 a.m. Burial will immediately follow at Barratts Chapel Cemetery in Frederica.
All attending any part of the services will be required to wear a mask and adhere to social distancing and gathering protocols.
Flowers are accepted, or contributions in Robert's memory are welcome to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
