Robert E. 'Doc' Savage

DOVER - Robert E. "Doc" Savage entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2009, at Kent General Hospital, Dover. He was born June 25, 1945, to the late Edward Savage and Ethel Savage Reeves. Three sisters preceded him in death, Dorothy Darnell, Fannie A. Sealy, and Angela House. He leaves to cherish his memory, a loving and devoted wife of 33 years, Annie Ruth Savage; two daughters Pamela Linear and Lakesha Savage, of Dover; a very special grandson, Robert (Ondray) Linear of Dover; seven brothers, James (Nina) Savage, Willie Dee (Hazel) Savage, Troy (Phyllis) Taylor, Stanley Savage, Tommy Savage, Clee J. Hines and Joe Lee Savage; eight sisters, Viola (Lee) Taylor, Geneva (Lonnie) Fuller, Mildred Savage, Christine Frank, Patricia Hayes, Jessie Ruth (Lonnell) Fuller, Neely Ann (Charles Lee) Williams, and Veronica (Paul) Williams; stepfather, Ernest Reeves; and one uncle, Robert Calvin (Ida) Meriwether; a mother-in-law, Mittie Anne Campbell of Jackson, Tenn.; three sisters-in-law, Dorothy Pirtle and Jessie Broen of Jackson, and Alberta Campbell of Dallas, Texas; one brother-in-law, Daniel Linear of Jackson; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends to celebrate his legacy. His memory will continue to live in the hearts and minds of those knew him. Funeral services will be 7 p.m. Monday, March 2, at Bennie Smith Funeral Home, 717 West Division St., Dover, where a viewing will be from 4-7 p.m.
