DOVER - Robert Douglas "Dug" Montgomery, 75, passed away Sunday, Oct. 24, 2010, at Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital, Dover. He was born on Jan. 29, 1935, in Muncie, Pa., to the late Harry and Grace Minner Montgomery. He was the youngest of 12 children. The family moved to Seaford, then to Dover. He married Gail P. Stewart in November 1956 and had four children. He was a member of Delaware Sidebanders Club, and many citizen band clubs. Mr. Montgomery worked at the Chrysler Plant, General Foods, Standard Brands, Simpson Lumber, Kent-Votech, he was a painter, and in his later years had his own business Dug's CB's. He was a photographer for the Delaware Discovered Book. In the early 70's he was a Boy Scout Leader at Chestnut Grove and also President of Kent County Archaeological Society. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Gail S. Montgomery, five brothers and three sisters, one granddaughter, and one great-granddaughter. He is survived by a son, Harry Montgomery of Dover; daughters and their husbands, Rebecca and Raymond Gingerich of Dover, Margie and Jeff Evans of Felton, and Roberta and Thomas Wendt of Harrington; sisters, Miriam Goldsborough, Sarah Vesper, and Agnes Pidcoe; 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Remembrance Services will be noon, Friday, Oct. 29, 2010, at Trader Funeral Home, Dover, where friends may call two hours prior. Burial will be at the Sharon Hill Memorial Park, Dover.
