Davis, Sr., 68 MILFORD - Richard McCaskill Davis, Sr. departed this life on Sunday, November 29, 2015, after spending a week in Carrabelle, Fla. at the annual Davis Camp Family Thanksgiving Reunion. This was a very special year for Richard because he was joined by his Delaware family – Mac, Kent and Michele. Richard was the son of Dr. and Mrs. J.K. Davis of Clearwater, Fla. After graduation from Clearwater High School, he enlisted in the USAF and was stationed at Dover AFB, Del., Clark AFB, Philipines and Tan Son NHUT, Vietnam during the TET Offensive of 1967. He graduated from Middle Tennessee State University with a degree in Aviation Management. He was a flight instructor and held single engine, instrument, commercial and multi engine pilot ratings. After moving his family to Delaware, he built his own house and worked for Super Fresh for many years. He is survived by his beloved sons, Richard McCaskill Davis, Jr. (Mac) and Kenneth Sharp Davis (Kent); daughter-in-law, Michele McKenzie Davis; and three brothers, James Davis (Ga.), Jack Davis (Fla.) and Hugh Davis (Fla.) and their families. Richard instilled his love of nature and wildlife in his sons and they enjoyed many activities together. His quote was "My job as a father is to teach them everything I know." A celebration of life will be held at the Milford Moose Lodge, 20106 Beaver Dam Rd., Milford, on Sunday, December 13, 2015 from 1pm – 3pm. In lieu of flowers, Richard's favorite charity was the Clam Jam Benefit Committee Inc. of which he was a trustee. The Chowderheads raise money for sick children. Donations can be sent to 20106 Beaver Dam Road, Milford, DE 19963. Please put In Memory of Richard Davis on all checks. A memory picture board will be provided if you would like to share a photo.
