GEORGETOWN - Richard L. Pepper passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2013, at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury, Md. Richard was born in Georgetown, the son of the late Dale R., Sr. and Marie (Rogers) Pepper. He worked as town manager for several years then was a supervisor for Delaware D.O.T., Ellendale Yard. He was an avid gardener, enjoyed rabbit hunting and attending Shore Bird Games. He was a member of Bethesda U.M. Church and held several offices within the church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Nancy Quesada; and brother, Dale Pepper, Jr. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Sylvia Hitchens Pepper; daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Ralph Mitchell of Georgetown; two grandchildren, Kara Book and her husband Rob of Milford, Ryan Mitchell and wife Cindy of Frankford; three great grandchildren, Gabby Book, and Jonathan and Julia Mitchell. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013 at 1 p.m. in the chapel of Short Funeral Services, 609 E. Market St., Georgetown, where friends may call after 11 a.m. Entombment will be in Union Cemetery, Georgetown, Del. Flowers accepted or contributions may be made to: Bethesda U.M.
