Richard was the fourth child born to the late Paul and Florence Baynard in Harrington.

Richard had accepted Christ as his blessed Savior.

He was a kind and loving person and if he could help you in any way, he was always willing to do so.

He could make you laugh telling his many experiences in life.

Richard had a great love for horses even after he became ill.

He would still talk about how he had to go take care of his beloved horses.

He loved to play cards and all types of games. His favorite football team was the Washington Redskins.

Richard was preceded in death by his daughter, Faye Reed; and his brother, Paul Jr.

He leaves to cherish his memory four sisters, Helen Washington (Benjamin) of Dover, Betty Jarrett of Harrington, Joann Baynard of Newark, and Jewett Hitchens (Donald) of New Castle; two brothers, Alfred Baynard (Micky) of Harrington, and Charles Baynard (Ruth Ann) of Dover; a special stepdaughter, Alice Boggs of Viola; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday in Bennie Smith Funeral Home, Dover, where friends may view two hours prior.
