DOVER - Richard E. Neiman Sr. Ph.D, passed away May 8, 2016 peacefully at home alongside his family and loved ones; as well as rotties, Roxy and Zeus; and his beloved Pippin. Richard was a higher mathematics teacher and department head at Dover High School for 24 years and continued his career as a mathematics professor at Wesley College for 15 years. He loved teaching and spent many hours creating innovative lessons and written materials for his students to better comprehend and understand the priniciples of math. During those years he pursued and earned his Ph.D in Philosophy. He enjoyed taking trips to the beach, taking photos, working in his workshop, and spending time with the ones he loved most. Richard was preceded in death by his parents, George and Ethel Neiman; and his brother, Kenneth G. Neiman. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Mary; his two sons Cmdr, Richard E. Neiman, Jr., USCGR of Chesapeake, Va.; Mgst Brian, and wife Karen Neiman, USAF (Ret.) of Dover; his five gradchildren, Matthew and wife Danielle Neiman, of Md.; Okesa Neiman; Diana Neiman; Randi Neiman, all of Dover; and Ashley Neiman, Va.; as well as two great granddaughters; Doreen Beasley and Elizabeth Neiman, of Dover. Services will be private and at the convenience of the family. The family asks to mourn in peace. In lieu of flowers the family asks donations be made to Delaware Home and Hospice, 100 Patriots Way Milford, DE 19963.
