SUDLERSVILLE, Md. - Richard Cecil Williams, (Dick) died at home on April 27, 2018 of natural causes. He was born on Feb. 28, 1933 to Alvin R. Williams and Mary Cohron Williams in Owensboro, Ky. After graduation from High School he joined the Army and spent 20 years serving his country and retired as a Lieutenant Colonel in 1972. During that time he married Fay Katherine Edds and they had three sons, Alvin Richard Williams IV, David Allen Williams, and Thomas Benjamin Williams. On Dec. 15, 1972 he married Faye Ellen Faust. Richard then started to work for the State of Delaware in the Insurance Department. He retired from there after 15 years. He received his Bachelors of Science degree from Brescia College and in 1976 his Master's Degree from Washington College. He was preceded in death by his parents, Al and Mary Williams; his wife, Fay Katherine Williams; and his two sons, David Allen and Thomas Benjamin Williams; his sister, Ellen Williams Armstrong and her husband William Armstrong. Richard is survived by his wife of 45 years Faye Ellen Williams; and three sons, Alvin Richard Williams IV (Rita), Williams Henry Faust III (Joanne), and Michael Robert Faust (Stacey); daughter-in-law, Lynn Williams; 16 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. He loved working with wood, reading, writing and camping. He wrote and had published his first book "Lost Acres" in 2017. At the time of his death he was working on his second book, "20 Years with Pay" and we hope to get that completed and published in remembrance of him. A Celebration of his Life will be held on May 19, 2018, at 2 p.m. at the Sudlersville Fire House. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Compass Regional Hospice, 100 Coursevall Rd. in Centreville, MD 21617 and for those in AA he would have liked you to donate to your home group or purchase a Big Book for someone in honor of Dick.
