MILLINGTON, Md. - Reese William Carpenter Sr., of Millington, died Monday, May 26, 2008, at the Chester River Hospital Center, Chestertown. He was 39.

Mr. Carpenter was born Nov. 5, 1968, in Wilmington, son of Raymond R. Sr. and Norma Jean Carpenter.

He worked as an electrician for Garrett German and Son.

On June 22, 1987, he married Marsha Anne, and they were married for 20 years.

Mr. Carpenter was a member of the National Wild Turkey Federation and Ducks Unlimited.

He loved spending time with his family and friends.

Mr. Carpenter enjoyed hunting, fishing, working in his garden, pitching horseshoes, playing cards and shooting sporting clays.

He is survived by his wife, Marsha Anne Carpenter of Millington; a son, Reese William Carpenter Jr. of Millington; a daughter, Cheryl Anne Carpenter of Millington; his mother and father, Raymond R. Sr. and Norma Jean Carpenter of Sudlersville; four brothers, Raymond Robert Carpenter Jr. of Church Hill, Charles R. Carpenter of Goldsboro, Charles Wallace of Millington and Steven A. Wallace of Denton; his mother-in-law, Doris Wessel of Millington; and three brothers-in-law, Charles W. Clough Jr., Steven A. Clough and Scott W. Clough, all of Millington.

He will be loved and missed by all.

Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Fellows, Helfenbein and Newnam Funeral Home, 370 W. Cypress St., Millington. Friends may call two hours prior to the service.

Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established for the family, c/o Peoples Bank of Kent County, P.O. Box 129, Millington, MD 21651.
