LINCOLN - Rebekah Carey Jones, formerly of Seaford, passed away Thursday, Sept. 22, 2011, at the age of 86, at her son's and daughter-in-laws home in Lincoln after a long illness. She was born Aug. 20, 1925, in Seaford, daughter of George and Lulu (Davis) Carey. She was preceded in death by husband, J. Fred Jones of 49 years; granddaughter, Melisia Wharton; and a great-granddaughter, Brooklin Bozeman. She is survived by her son, Gary F. Jones and his wife Linda (Lynn) Jones; a sister, Evelyn C. Baeckler of Plantation, Fla.; a granddaughter, Michelle Lewis of Salisbury, Md.; and a step-grandson, J. Michael Cole and his wife Parvina. She is also survied by five great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews and cousins. She retired from DelAgra Foods, formerly Dulaney Foods after 41 years service as office manager. She was a long time member of St. Johns Church of Seaford, and a member of the Seaford High School Alumni. She will be dearly missed by family and friends. There will be a graveside service at Odd Fellows Cemetery in Seaford at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions in Rebekah's name to Delaware Hospice Center, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963.
