GREENWOOD - Ray West Webb passed away on Sunday, July 18, 2021, surrounded by his loving wife and children. He was born on the family farm in Greenwood on April 10, 1949, the son of the late Frank Webb and Edith West Webb.
Ray graduated from Woodbridge High School with the class of 1970. On July 14, 1973, he married Susan Witzke Webb and they made their home in Greenwood.
He started his career with E.I. DuPont in Seaford as a machine operator. Later he worked for Sussex County as the Facilities Manager. He retired in 2010 after 32 years of service.
Ray enjoyed tending his garden and watching the crops grow. His greatest joy, however, was spending time with his family and grandchildren. He enjoyed being outside, riding the golf cart around the farm, and supporting his grandchildren and their activities.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Susan Webb; two children, Angela Taylor and her fiancée Chris Mumford, and Ray Franklin Webb and his wife Kimberly, all of Greenwood; three grandchildren he adored, Taryn Taylor, Matthew Taylor, and Rancen Webb; two sisters, Barbara Hrupsa and her husband Tommy of Felton, Del., and Ruth Hrupsa and her husband Floyd of Felton, Del.; and one brother, Frank Webb, Jr.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 23, 2021, at 1 p.m. at the Framptom Funeral Home – Fleischauer Chapel in Greenwood with the Reverend Bruce Rogers officiating. Burial will follow at Saint Johnstown Cemetery in Greenwood. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
