Ralph Raymond Handy, 68

BERLIN, Md. - Ralph Raymond Handy of Berlin died Thursday, Dec. 28, 2006, in Peninsula Regional Medical Center, Salisbury. He was 68.

Mr. Handy was a retired construction worker for George R. Clark & Son.

He loved basketball, wrestling, lifting weights and smiling. His life was raising his family.

Mr. Handy was a member of Zoar United Methodist Church, Selbyville.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Wallace W. and Raddie Waples Handy; his wife, Jackie L. Handy in 1993; and a son, Dwayne A. Tingle in 1984.

He is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Ralph R. Jr. and Tammy Tingle of Denver, Colo. and Bernard Tingle of Smyrna; three daughters, Marlynn R. Tingle of Salisbury, Vonna M. Tingle of Bridgeville, Del. and Ernestine Fooks of Berlin; two brothers, Wallace Handy of Dagsboro, Del., and Monroe Handy of Philadelphia; five sisters, Helen Smith of Bishopville, Mildred Handy of Ocean City, Lola Handy of Berlin, Ionia Davis of Dagsboro and Radie Fooks of Bishopville; 13 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Services will be 1 p.m. Thursday in Calvary Pentecostal Church, U.S. 113 Bishopville, where friends may call one hour earlier. Elder Willie Younger will officiate.

Burial will be in Curtis Cemetery, Bishopville.
