Ralph E. Jean

SMYRNA - Ralph E. Jean, age 55, of Smyrna, passed away on June 27, 2016 at Kent General Hospital in Dover. He was born September 6, 1960 in Dover, De. the son of the late Russell W. Jean, Sr. and to Merle P. Jean of Smyrna. Ralph worked in financing most of his career. He earned a BA from the University of PA and his MBA from Syracuse University. He was the quarterback of the 1977 Dover High School State Championship Football Team and was drafted by the Oakland A's Minor League Baseball Team. In addition to his mother Merle, he is survived by his brother, Russell Jean, Jr.; three sons, Edward, Peter and Scott Jean; and extended family members. A memorial gathering will be held from 9a.m. to 12p.m. in the D'Anjolell Memorial Home, located at 392 Lancaster Ave., Malvern, PA 19355. Celebration of life services will begin at 12 noon. Light refreshments will follow. In lieu of flowers, an education fund is being established for Ralph's children.
